Last week I added a small level lift to the truck that consisted of 3" spacers, radius arm drop brackets and track bar drop bracket for the front.
My issue now is that as soon as this stuff was put on, I'm getting a whining sound. sounds like my power steering pump, however, I have fluid, and I flushed it and top off with ATF, and no change. the whining only changes with the change of the RPM's. Steering is fine, and creates no change in whine. Brakes are fine (Hydro-boost).... I'm stumped... the only thing that i"m waiting on to complete this job is an adjustable track bar (didn't think I needed one.. stupid rough country) got the axle is about 1" out of line on the passenger side. I'm just lost cause I didn't do anything that would cause this, and it's driving me crazy. the ONLY thing I can honestly think of is the pitman arm, but thats connected to the steering gear, and then the gear is connected thru hoses and piping to the steering pump.. correct?
I guess what I'm trying to figure out, is if there is something that could be whining that would sound like my steering pump. Another forum said maybe the pulley but it doesn't seem like that would be it.. in my experience I've never heard a pulley 'whine' when the bearing is going out... any bearing for that matter.. just my opinion... anywho.. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.
