I figure this is the right spot for it seeing it only pertains to 08-10 trucks steering wheel controls even thou it's an aftermarket audio problem

I got a new pioneer deck in my truck and wants to still be able to use the factory steering wheel controls, well I got everything needs to make them work and had a professional put then in, well he got everything working but when ever I hit any button, seek, volume + or -, and media it would mute the sound for a second. Well found another aftermarket control to use and ordered that up and installed it, it was causing the same thing, all the buttons do what they should but it mutes the deck each time you hit any button. and the newer one was the exact one I needed (not a universal one).

My question is has anyone run into the same problem? And was was the remedy? The audio guy said it could have to do with the resistances and it being a canbus system in the truck. Can anyone shed some light on a possible fix? It's not as much as a problem as it is annoying, like I said before everything works but it keeps muting for a split second everytime you hit a button

Did you contact pioneer to see if they have any ideas? I doubt that it's just because it's canbus because most cars with steering wheel controls are canbus.

Hmm maybe I'll take it to another place and see what they say about it, it made sense to me that it could be a resistance issue, I know how tricky canbus can be

I'm not saying the canbus is not making it work because the controls works with the factory head unit.
