Would the lug threads be different between the two? Course thread vs Fine thread? If so make sure you use the correct lug nuts.

No they didnt change thread pitch until 02. The only difference you might run into. is on the LH side the brake caliper on the E99 is probably mounted in front of the rotor. The late one will probably have both behind the rotor. Its not really a big deal.
