what is the weak point in the rods. from what few ive seen it has been the bolts letting go and going through the pan. would it be worth while putting some arp rod bolts in to make the stock rods live longer? just thinking out loud here, jack up the motor and pull the pan or is there much more involved?

Its not the bolts, they actually bend the rods. James made 860on the dyno, but I won't let him actually hit that on the street cause she'll take the rods out

The way I look at it is if you are planning on making big reliable power and are pulling the motor, you might aswell put PROVEN rods in and save yourself the time and cost of having a rod let go.

definitly all i was thinking was a cheap way to make them last a bit longer. shawn have you ever seen the bolts let go or has it always just bent the rods?

I understand cheap and budget. You can do what I did, and just pick up a spare motor for when it does let go.
The $400 price for a used short block was alot easier to handle.

I bent 6 rods but all the bolts were fine. If your that deep in there I would just spend the extra for rods just for peace of mind. That was my mind set anyways.

Jesse Warren did in his pulling truck, after many MANY sled pulls. Probably around 750hp, that's just a guess.
