Here is my dilemma. Whoever owned my truck before me, put a leveling kit, drop pitman arm, and some kind of aftermarket track bar the bolts up right underneath the crossmember and attaches to the U-bolt plate on the passenger side. Question is would it be better to go back to a stock type track bar setup with a drop bracket since it has a drop pitman arm and also put a stock U-bolt plate back on it as it makes the shock sit a little higher and off to the side some. Truck is a 2000 F250.

Or get rid of the drop pitman arm and go back to the stock track bar with stock bracket so my steering geometry is back to normal?

Well I'm pretty sure the aftermarket track bar bushings are shot and never really liked the way it handled much. And I'm gonna be putting new leaf springs on so figured if I need to change anything else out then I might as well do it all at once.

I just went through this problem with a drop pitman arm and no drop track bar bracket. Bump steer was deadly! Took the drop pitman arm off and put a stock one back one, problem solved. Some kits apparently don't use a drop track bar bracket. So I would think it depends on your lift.

What size of lift is on your truck?

Not sure exactly since it was on the truck when I bought it. It's just a bracket and shackle kit, so I'm guessing 2-2.5" which I've never seen a drop pitman arm on that small of a lift before. If I go back to oem I gotta scrounge up a pitman arm and oem track bar bracket for the driver's side LOL. Too bad my brother scrapped his when he put his Icon lift on .

It's a rough country 4.5 inch lift. Rides and steers absolutely PERFECT now that I got that issue fixed.!

If your only at 2.5"ish of lift. A stock track bar bracket, stock pitman arm and an adjustable track bar would be my recommendation.

Well it looks like the bolts that hold the track bar in place are not available any more and none at the local yards. Anybody know what size they are and if they are fine or coarse thread?

So does anybody know the size of the bolt? Local dealer said 14x2.0x90. Also the track bar bushing hole size looks bigger than this and bigger than the hole for the oem bracket on the passenger side. So I'm guessing wrong track bar? Why the hell couldn't the guy before me leave it alone LOL

Well I've been doing a bunch of searching and finally found the correct bolts. Stupid local Ford dealer parts guy gave me the wrong info:slap:
