Still searching for an answer. 15 Running PIP tunes, 0-level (just ******s) tow, and street doesn't change anything. At 177 degrees under load and around 1500-1800 rpm, something turns on and creates a small rattle sounds like fuel timing but. It does not change with rpm and it only stops doing it when the engine cools below 177 degrees. I think I can still hear it when I downshift to 5th but the engine makes more noise and covers it up. Drove a stock 14 but he had no gauges and the exhaust being stock don't help, I couldn't tell if it was there or not.

If the radio is on or windows down you can't hear the noise.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

No, it's not there untill 177. Then it is there untill you let the truck sit and cool down..when it gets back to 177 it is back.....only under load and around 1500-1800 rpm. I think it is there above those rims but the sound of the engine drowns it out.

There has to be something that is commanded to operate @ 177 degrees....what ever that is is making the noise.

Went to buddies shop today, he could here but said if I hadn't pointed it out he would have not heard it. We are going to hook his data logger up this afternoon and re run it. That should tell us what is switching at 177.
