Shift on the fly - but there are two different kinds of vacuum hubs - the newer kind are a constant vacuum and easy to control if you are looking to install them into something else - the older kind are a pulsed vacuum - depending upon the strength of the vacuum and the length of the vacuum controls if they engage or disengage.

I have a spare set of pulsed vacuum hubs here that I removed and installed the constant vacuum hubs on my Dmax project.

The 05up 450s and 550s "look' to have much bigger axle joints then the 250-350 trucks.

Aren't they also wider? Any of them in the pickups 250-550 I believe can have manual or auto hubs depending on trucks trim pkg or how it was ordered.

up to 2010 before the 6.7 is a pulsed vac using a different strength and duration

I don't know if the 6.7 has something else ? haven't really looked ( Hotrod you got a picture ? )

the manual or Auto hubs were both available ( manual t case = manual hub ) and look the same for the PVH ( hub ) so if the wording faded you can't tell the difference but the manual is missing some parts

How the pulsed vacuum works: http://powerstrokearmy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8722

I don't have pics - but I installed a set of 2011 hubs that are suppose to be constant vacuum, but I haven't tested them yet - but they look identical - I'll see if I can find the part number.

Since 2002 when Ford switched to Dana 60s they have had 35 spline inner axles. In 2005 they switched from 30 spline outers to 35 spline outers. The F-450 and 550 Dana 60s not only have larger knuckles but also different axles with larger u-joints to take advantage of the increased space inside of the knuckle.

I also think the Towboss F trucks have the 450-550 version

I can't see why they messed with the vacuum hub ?

I know How the PVH works and the pulse never seemed like a problem

I found one on craigslist for $1500. Was wondering about it for my '99. The larger brakes and tighter steering would be nice.

Is it a 450-550 D60? Those would be the only ones I would really consider a "super" 60. It is fair amount of work to change a 99-04 over to a coil spring and radius arm front. Also, the steering boxes completely changed in 05 and are also different on the 450-550 trucks.
