I have the opportunity to get my hands on an e99 7.3. I would like it to build it up while I drive my truck around. Now, when the time comes would I be able to swap the e99 into my obs and run it off the obs PCM? I have stage 1's that I would swap over & efuel. Any thoughts/comments are appreciated!

Alright thanks, nothing is wrong with my engine. Would you guys think it is a good idea to purchase this engine if the price is right? I would like to build it while it's on a stand & swap everything over from my obs engine when the time comes. Or do you think I should just stick with my current engine and build it?

The motors are pretty well identical. If its a good deal, buy it. You will just use the E99 long block and put all the obs acces. over on it. Nothing will change with the wiring, so your PCM will not care what year block it is.

Very easy swap the as co04cobra said the engines are as much as identical. You will need to use the uvchfrom the old motor and I believe the intake has 2 more bolt holes in the newer heads so you'll need to reuse them as well. If you've got the spare for a good deal I'd go for it.
