Does anyone know which reamer i need for the 2000 pitman arm to fit the 2006 steering linkage. That is the last holdup for my coil spring conversion.

1-1/2" per foot seems to be the standard.

Thanks

Can you measure the largest diameter and the smallest diameter, find the difference in diameter, measure the distance between the two, then figure out the taper per foot?

For example, 1-1/2" taper per foot is 1/8" taper per inch. 1.5"/12 is 1/8" per inch.

Or for example: if you have 1/4" difference in 2"; the big end is 1-1/2" and the little end is 1-1/4" and 2" between them. 1-1/2"-1-1/4" = 1/4" divided by 2" equals same 1/8" taper per inch.

Taper by foot then is 1/8"x 12"=1-1/2" per foot.

Don't know if this helps or not.

Are you talking about straight reamers that have an initial taper so you can start them?
Or one like what Uncool is looking for?

Got the reamer I needed, Of all things, A friend of mine had the reamer I needed. It is a 7 degree taper that I came up with.

I live in Atascadero. North of San Luis Obisbo.

I have the 06 arm. No chance in hell it will fit the 2000 box. I have the small sector shaft with 4 alignment splines. The 06 arm is the larger shaft and only has 3 alignment splines. Got the 2000 arm reamed, and brake lines figured out. The 2000 arm is an inch longer also.
