Used my 2014 F350 to go ice fishing this past weekend and got in some deep snow and have to get on it, truck hops and shakes like a SOB when I give it some throttle in 4x4. I can do it in 2wd also, just not as bad. And by shake, I mean the whole truck jumps up and down like a mofo. Wtf is the deal? My 6.4 never wheel hopped, even with a lift

From my experience certain situations will just create wheel hop.. I've had all different years of fords hopping pretty good while plowing snow or playing in the sand.

Could be slightly softer spring rates or slightly different geometry that creates a better ride but makes it easier to hop.

the 11+ trucks hop WAY easier than a 6.0 or 6.4. Put a good set of shocks and it will tone it down some. Definitely doesnt get rid of it totally tho.

Whats the fix all solution, 3 or 4 link? How about the rear

3 link helps front wheel hop with better street handling characteristics, where 4 link is the ultimate in hop control but slightly adverse street handling (probably still better than stock radius arms).

Traction bars are always a nice addition in the rear..

I tend to agree with sootie, try a set of nice upgraded shocks and see if that cures your problem. Even buying all the good parts won't necessarily guarantee you won't get any wheel hop because there's so many possible contributing factors.

On 2011+ trucks its really easy to throw a set of OUO bars on there and fix this. I found a lot of wheel hop issues backing up my trailers in snow before I put them on my work truck. They literally completely cured the issue at hand.

The front hop is a different issue that can be cured with the adjustable link arms.

We have ALA's Bolt on Bars and fox shocks in stock. Give me a shout if there's anything I can help with

I had this problem with my 08, once I threw the bars on there it helped alot. next is to get OUO's up front and it will take care of it all. 30ft enclosed sled trailer going through a foot of snow and having it hop is not fun at all. LOL

Do you turn off traction control on the snow?

TC wouldn't let you spin the wheels fast enough to hop.

In snow/dirt? I always turn mine off because... duh, but I know on every car I've owned that had it, it will allow for massive wheel hop. And I know for a FACT that our TC ON A TUNED TRUCK, will allow some spin, but I've never experienced hop on mine after mods. Stock could be dif story.

I've never had wheel hop directly caused by traction control, but it either way it's irrelevant because I've definitely had wheel hop with traction control off and things like ALA's, better shocks, and quality traction bars do help remedy this issue.

I've never even had traction control with my other trucks and I've had them hopping like a sonofabitch.

So you're saying you are ready for a set of ALA's?
