Hello guys and girls I just bought an 01 F350 CCLB and it's going to be my new tow pig. I am looking to get a little more pep out of it without going crazy like I had done with my 97.wanting want to have to worry about problems with it as it will be my DD. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Dave are there any hg concerns with this pkg? And do I need to do an exhaust or is the stock enough?

eh..if you're just going to be running around in the tow/mild daily type settings...no reason to upgrade the exhaust...the 99+ trucks don't have the pancake down pipe like your OBS did (stock).

if you find yourself wanting to push it hard(er)...do an exh/intake...I like the Insight CTS for a monitor...so sleek/and about a 5 minute install versus indiv gauges...(other than the pyro)

http://swampsdiesel.com/prestashop/...ge-packages/602-edge-insight-cts-monitor.html

but we toss this package on otherwise bone stock fleet trucks, daily drivers, tow rigs, etc...with stock everything..and as long as the driver has a brain between their ears..there are never any issues.

Guess it depends how you define "a little more pep". Might be fine with just a tuner and exhaust.

Hey Dave, what all does the cts show on the 99-04 trucks? I bought one for my 12 and really like it but I didn't know how it would do on the older trucks.

pretty much anything a scantool will display.

IPR%, ICP pressure, rpm, inj PW, battery voltage, pedal %, what gear you're in/TC lockup (on/off), and you can add a near infinite number of 0-100psi, or 0-xxx degree temp/pressure transducers to monitor just about whatever you'd want to monitor or log...add a back up camera (includes lic plate frame w/ camera)

I have the Insight CTS in both of my 7.3L trucks...super slick..and I love the b/u camera on the Excursion...

here's the full list:

Ford 1999-2003 7.3L Powerstroke

Accel Pedal Position, Battery Voltage, Engine Oil Temp, Engine RPM, Exhaust Back Pressure, Gear with TCL, ICP Pressure, Injector Pulse Width, Intake Air Temp, IPR Duty Cycle, Manifold Abs Pressure, Mileage Coach, MPG Instant, MPG Average, Time 0-60, Time 1/4 mile, Timing, Trans Temp, Turbo Boost, Vehicle Speed, Waste Gate Control Duty Cycle

Same here, the only difference being the turbo. Been running this setup since 2007 (@ 80,000 miles) pullin our 31' 5th wheel. Love towing with this setup, set the cruise on 70-75, no high EGT's, extra passing power still there when I need it. The stock HPOP can maintain 3,000 psi in the tow programs so no pesky 1211 code. Added about 50-60 hp.

Swamps stage I's 175/146 single shots
Van turbo
Regular return
DIIC
4" exhaust
6637 air intake or Ford AIS
Tony Wildman tunes

I'd do it again in a heartbeat
