I know its pretty cold temps but i was plugged in. My truck started good but had sort of a tick or a slight miss that would increase with RPM. AFter it warmed up it went away for the most part. Later that day at work (no plug in, about 12 degrees) It started but ran real loud and RPMs fluctuated for awhile and smoked like none other. I let it warm up for 10-15 mins and still had a slight smoke upon acceleration and the whole truck seemed to run pretty loud. Could my injectors be ready to come out or is this just the real cold temps causing me some slight issues? Truck has 244k on it. Thanks

Well at first it sorta sounded that way, then it just calmed down after it got warm. Would that be from the weight or oil im running (15-40)? Is it something i should worry about?

Im running rotella 15-40. This morning (2 degrees) the ticking noise wasent really there and then after work it started pretty good (17 degrees) just took awhile to warm up and quite a bit of smoke. I guess its getting used to these temps lol

Sounds like a very cold diesel motor.

Change the oil to a straigh 30wt and see if that helps.
