For loads greater than 15K, is there a turbo better than the PowerMax, assuming you will stay with a single? I was looking at the BD Thruster 2 and the salesperson said that the PM flowed a lot more air, at half the cost.

It's a great turbo for towing...can't go wrong with it.

The thruster is a 62mm non vgt, it will own the powermax for airflow. Honestly, there are better nonVGT options than the thruster for much less money.

A little baby 62 will out flow a pm that much?!

Not if the Pmax has the newest 11 blade single plane wheel that is available for it. If you're looking for a towing turbo that is brand new, I think it is hard to beat a Powermax with that billet wheel for the money.

I have the bd thruster kit on my truck with 175/75 injectors and I love it. The most I towed with it was probably around 10k and it just pulled and pulled. I do have the setup for sale though so I can go with a bigger setup.

I would agree with that. Billet wheel powermax will outflow a cast wheel 62. I would bet a fmw 62 outflows the billet powermax.

I never had luck with the batmo wheel, I now have the single plane billet wheel on my powermax. Egts get a little warm still, but I can hold 1200 rpms pulling my 16-18k 5th wheel. I can't say I seen a egt change, but the low end power was worth it.

Did you ever look at alternatives to that set-up? I see you've got Warren's 155s compared to my 175s and still get a little warm. Maybe I should be more concerned about my injectors as opposed to the turbo. I'll never be looking at twin chargers for this truck.

I've thought about a fixed, but worried it would have to much lag. I'm sure I'll be trying a 62mm after I find a dually, lol.
I really think a live custom tune would really help my truck.
