Looking for a tire ther than 420s that everyone else runs. going on a 22x14. havent heard much about the proxes lately, read that the original proxes were softer and performed better than the new one. Was wondering what the main differences were between the S/T and S/T II are, other than tread design. Anyone running either of the tires?

Curious about this myself. I've been looking at the Toyos and the kumho ecsta (spelling?).

Cooper zeon ltz is a pretty good looking tire I think. After my last ordeal with nitto I don't think I'll be going back with 420s on a truck

I've used the ecsta's before. They have very weak sidewalls from my experience. I will not but them again. Not sure what version you were looking at though

Yea, I can understand them not covering the warranty. When I ordered mine from tire rack or where ever, they cancelled my order saying they could not sell them to me because of the vehicle I claimed to be putting them on. I placed ab order 20 minutes later claiming I was putting them on a Chevy 1500

Yeah get that but it was a defect in the tire but I'm going to ride the set out but won't be buying another set.
I went to get another tire and the my
Tire guy said they are on back order so I'm wondering if there was a issue and I'm not the only person who experienced this problem

I've always heard the S/T is the best of the two at the track. I had the S/T II and cut a 1.66 with them in my 08 CC/SB. Not sure how much better (if any) the S/T would have been. I will say the S/T II held up great to the abuse. I probably would have gotten 25,000 miles or more out of them, which I don't think is bad at all for an XL tire on a 7600-7700 lb truck.

As far as looks go, I think the S/T looks best.

Side wall started splitting and nitto won't warranty the tire. Tires had less than 1k on them

No way in hell that's a split from a defect. That's a cut of some sort. Almost looks like it got laid on a siping machine. Those lines are too perfectly spaced to be a failure.

The more I look at it...that's a cut. You ran over something and didn't notice it or something. You can see the scuff marks in the rubber where it didn't actually cut it. 100% no way on earth that's a defect or failure of the tire.
