I don't know if this is the right spot for this post but I couldn't find were to ask the questio. I have a 08 250 diesel with a manual and I have drag raced several times in 4wheel but wanted to try 2wheel. I'm not good at setting up track bars or what not. I tried last week launching in 2 wheel drive in 3rd gear at 2800 rpm all that happens is the tires light up in smoke. I tried preheating tires and lowering air pressure in tires and it made no difference, I even tried tightening the bars up. Does anyone know what I need to try to get my truck to hook because I'm lost with this. Any comments would be helpful.

Traction bars will help for sure but I don't think they will solve your issue of lighting the tires up cause I have traction bars and can still do that but they will help firm the rear end up and keep everything where it needs to be suspension wise

Just wondering why you want to do 2wd. I ran a 16 in 2 vs mid 12's in 4. Not saying my 2 wheel run was good by any means but I say take advantage of the 4wd.

I am wondering the same thing. Why would you want to launch in 2wd if you have a 4wd option which means you are packing the weight of a 4wd front end.
Here is what I believe in 4x4 vs 2wd. I might be wrong about this but it is just my opinion and like I said, I could be wrong. I think a 4x4 is the best street truck, because you can launch one at any given time at any place. But on the track I am not so sure it is better than a 2wd. I have thought about this quite a lot. If you can launch a 2wd, and we know it can be done if set up properly(race truck only) then you are not carrying the weight of that 4x4 front end. But if you are looking for a weekend race truck and street truck bad thing about a 2wd is when a Mustang GT, or Camaro SS pulls up you will get your a$$ hand it to you in a 2wd because it isn't as simple as turning a switch to 4x4 and launching. I am about to install some Caltracs and relocate my batteries to the rear and hope this does some good.

I was wanting to run 2wd because I am able to shift better with 2 vs 4 with a dual disc clutch. I am running 285 70 nitto terra grapplers. I run 14s in 4wheel drive but its hard to get the truck to want to launch in a higher gear I cant lite my turbos as well as an automatic can.

I think white monster or someone else has some. do a basic search in aftermarket for 6.4 here and at PSN and you'll find some members who can help if you PM directly.
