My grandpa gave me his old trailer that he extended and converted to a gooseneck from 5th wheel and it needs some work. It measures roughly 18'x8' not counting the neck.
It has mobile home axles on it now and when it was coverted it was converted for a flat bed so it looks like it may be a lil' low. So I was debating adding 4" drop spindle axles to lift the trailer up and an adjustable neck. The drop spindle axles I've seen are rated for 3500lbs.
I plan to haul appx 6 atvs on it at one time (3600lbs), My Dakota R/T (4000lbs), my 140 Farmall, and eventually a sled truck (8-10k lbs).
Should I consider different axles? Also the only thing I'm worried about lifting the trailer is how long of ramps I would need to safely load my Dakota R/T?
What are y'alls thoughts?
