Well it happened
Finally.
Running late to a funeral on the hi way 1o miles out of town.
Not the best way for it to fail.
But it happened

I was leaving a construction zone and accelarated it shifted hard. I drove up a hill and it was slippn 3k at 60mph and lossing speed Tranny temp never passed 170 f. Per autometer gauge.
Had two trans codes :
P2703 trans friction d apply time range performance

P0766 shift solenoid *d perf/stuck off

I limped it to town and family picked me up.
It was ambersing my dad was like my boy has a 13 second diesel but my truck will out run it now ha ha .

It was long day. I later picked it up and trailered it to my work.
Just now getting home long long day.

Talked to twisted getting a stage 2 on the way prob Tuesday.

Is this a good choice ?

Those codes don't sound like a full failure. I had the same trans friction apply code...i think it means the solenoid couldn't supply enough fluid to the clutch pack in time to make the shift properly. I upgraded the dd solenoid and its shifted perfect every time since. Don't go spending money on a new trans till you at least pull the pan or can't get it in/out of gear at all. Unless you just have 4k to burn....

No you'll need to get an upgraded direct drive solenoid from suncoast or go go. The ports are much bigger so it can flow more fluid over the stock solenoids. What shift did it slip on...3-5?

sorry to hear that, you're not the only one thats for sure.

my trans has been rebuilt 3 times in the last 3 months..3rd time was a charm. and I have been cited for 3 tickets in three months, and I lost one of my buddies in a car accident. hope it gets better! try what stroke of luck is saying if you can! It may keep it alive longer! merry christmas!
