I've been plodding along with some minor upgrades to my truck, and have now gotten to the point of putting in the new trans. It was a over a month of waiting but now that its here having a BTS trans will definitely bring some peace of mind while towing. So while the trans is out what orings if any should I replace, and other then uppipe donuts, anything else need replacing? With 245K on the odo I'm sure things are getting old and brittle.

Remove the ring around the flexplate bolts and closely inspect the flexplate for cracks.

Don't touch the rear main unless it's leaking.

Ditch the up pipe donuts, go with bellows/one piece up pipes.

Swap in a 6.0 trans cooler.

Replace HPO rail plugs and fuel rail plug orings.

Make sure oil pan is not leaking...if it is, you're half there in pulling the motor.
