pulled into my neighborhood last night and my truck felt like something grabbed so I turned the radio down and it ran just fine. went to back into my parking spot and my truck wouldn't go in reverse so I pulled around and pulled into the spot. started lookin at it today and its not doing anything. the linkage works just fine on the external side but its acting like its not going into any gear. fluid was a little low so I filled that up this morning thinking it would fix my problem. it didn't, so im lookin for answers now.

thanks guys.

It could be a shaft, or the pump, or something else I'm not thinking of at the moment.

It would be good if you could get a 0-300 PSI gauge and install it in the test port on the side of the trans. Is there pressure idling in any of the shifter positions?

no pressure at all. it sounds like it shifts but doesn't do anything. its like the tranny is in a bind. I even went as far as to put it in neutral and try to push it backwards. still couldn't get it to budge

so I just lifted my rear tires off the ground and while in drive they will spin but not like they should, I have to rev it up to about 1100 rpm to get them to spin. and still no reverse no matter how high the rpm.

If there is no pressure the trans won't work. You can screw around with it for as long as you like, but it is never going to work again. It needs to come out and be rebuilt or replaced.
