Hey guys well today I was out racing and everything was going good until my transmission started studdering between shifts, Also when I get on it about 50mph it studders and then takes off. One more thing on the way home the Overdrive light started flashing. So I pulled the codes and I get P0500. I see it is a speed sensor malfunction and just wondering if anyone has experience with this problem. Just wondering if I have multiple problems or if it is just focused on one.

I would disregard the code then (for now) and drop the tranny pan and do a visual.

I wouldn't be looking at anything in the pan. I'd look at the electrical continuity of the wiring to the speed sensor on top of the rear axle, and I'd remove that sensor to check for metal filings stuck to it. A new sensor is about $15, and it's probably a good idea to replace it.

Because the code can set if the signal gets a bit erratic. The PCM sees a problem, but the speedo computer can still read the signal.

Hey guys replaced the sensor and that got rid of the light flashing but the studders are still there, I was wondering if it could be a torque converter

Studders or shutters? To me there is a difference.

My tranny would studder (hesitate) at the shift points. When I had the trans torn apart my TC was burnt to a crisp. Could this be your problem, I don't know but, it was mine along with multiple other things.

Interesting...:)

Now drop the pan and look for shiny sh!t, or some gritty stuff that feels like sand.
