TRANSMISSION

Dont have much power going to the truck and the tq is almost jumped out of the truck and gave me the finger :flipa: all i have is the IDP X street...need a go to place for transmissions. I know suncoast is popular and ats is good but heard customer service is terrible. GoGo?? What do you guys think?

HA! when i was in the navy they put the exhaust on my truck and replaced the ficm..i watched the progression of brian's maroon rig...pretty cool guys. i didnt know they made transmissions now...

You should have no issues with a stock trans with what power you're running.

i sure do..almost sounds like a manual when youre idling..that slight grinding you hear like when uyou let a manual free roll over a hill..its terrible..i remember i turned a corner, nailed it and it went to shift down to first from second and it went into neutral and wrapped out..its done that a few times since but i didnt try it at that low of a dig..did it at like 35mph and it went to shift into overdrive after 4th and wrapped out again. neutral..had to let off and let it roll and slowly eased in it and she caught up...when it does that i can smell the TC in the cab :fustrate:

and the funny thing is, it was never drve hard before. my aunt owned it and it was completely stock. pulled a little horse trailer with it ever now n then. and i started having tranny issues almost 2 months after all the motor work was done

my buddies 06 has the same tune and he rags the slap hell out of that truck and he has no issues at all..i mean like RAG RAG..like pulling a fully loaded travel trailer and 2500lbs of water in the bed with it in a hot tune with the thing flat to the floor raggin..i honestly dont know how the hell the truck is still running.

That's my point. I understand you're having issues with this one, but I wouldn't hesitate to put another stocker in it myself. Probably just a fluke with yours. I had my original torque converter "implode" or so the tech said, and I wasn't even ragging on it at the time. Just one of those things. The new trans has been great.

well lots of great inputs i appreciate it..now whos going to offer the best deal and be the easiest to go through in my location... getting pretty bad...left Texas Avenue yesterday and showered down..walked er sideways through the intersection and by the time we hit third she wrapped out again..neutral...:doh: i dont believe ill be doing that anymore..

That was my problem. Exact same symptoms on a low mileage never previously tuned truck. Previous first owner before me was a pretty girl soccer mom who drove it easier than grandma with no more than a load of 2 kids in the backseat.

Xstreet F'd my trans. My srl with 10% higher shift pressure set by myself on those 2 problems shifts is getting me back and forth to work at least right now.
