I am looking at buying a set of the 315/70/17 M/T and seeing if anyone has had good milage out of them on these trucks?
I have been running a set of 285/75/17 A/T on a 4Runner for a couple of years now and have had great luck. We have about 25,000 on them and show hardley any ware. Just dont know if the soft tread would fall apart or not.

Thanks

Do I really have to dig up the pictures of the blowouts and the damage they cause? I wouldn't run these things if they were given to me. At least not under a 3/4 or 1 ton truck. Maybe on a ranger... MAYBE.

Just copied this from a guy on DB who used to sell them:

I never thought id say this ive been a Treadwright distributor for 3 years i thought they were the best since sliced bread. But now ive seen more casing failures than ever.probly about 40% of what i sold. Just recently my good friend also our sheriff was heading up i-25 had a sidwall blow out at 75mphcausingffdp the tread to separate and trash his front left fender and lost control of his truck and went into the divider cable on the freeway.all with his wife and 2 young sons.no one was hurt.i will never sel a retread again im taking mine off as well.im sorry if i steered anyone in the direction of buying them.

We were returning from our vacation in the Midwest when we heard and felt a loud thump under the truck while cruising the highway at 70 MPH. I pulled over and checked the truck but found nothing. We continued on another 30 miles to our hotel after our long day of driving 11 hours. Thankfully the next morning the wife spots something wrong with the front tire.

We found a tire shop and purchased a full size used tire to get home to Montana. We were really lucky!

This is the second problem I have had with these retreads. The tires were rotated at 5000 miles before we left for the Midwest. I can't trust my family's life on these tires any longer. I have respectfully requested a full refund from TreadWright and I'm currently waiting for a verdict. Just wanted to give the community a heads up on these tires. When I purchased them a year ago I could not find any bad press on these tires.

After a few days of researching I pulled the trigger on some Cooper Discoverer ST MAXX tires. I was also considering BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO and Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac. So far I am really happy with the Coopers!
