Well, I did it, got Silver all returned to stock, got it cleaned up and running right and drove 3hrs down to the dealer yesterday. Swapped over the high $$ batteries, the prototype SuperArmor front winch bumper and the wheels/tires.

Left the dealer a very relieved man. All that work over the last 2 months done. Well, there's still putting all those goodies back on Silver II, but the miserable part is done.

And it's 4th mod, the Leer cap

On the way home I was tailing traffic only to realize the car in front of me was smoking terribly, there is oil all over silver II so I guess today is debadging and washing day.

Does anyone know if the 'Platinum' along the bed side is just a stick on or are there holes under the letters? I'm thinking fishing line to get them off.

I have to say I really appreciate the bigger brakes and revised master setup. The peddle feels much firmer.
I like the stereo, though haven't put the nav card in yet. But I expect it to be the same as Wifey's '15 F150 which was no great shakes. I suppose I'll need a lockpick for it.
The leather doesn't feel quite as nice as what was in silver, it's seems to be more of a fake suede - kinda weird.
The engine feels about the same as Silver (tuned) did, but I never really got on it hard, so IDK.
Tranny shifts smoothly, no issues.
Didn't try out the exhaust brake yet.
I did try the heated steering wheel, nice.
Wasn't sure I'd like the fake wood trim on everything, but it's growing on me.
I thought it had massaging seats, but I can't find a button anywhere.

Other than that, getting in Silver II was about like putting on a comfortable pair of jeans, I fit right in. Good thing too b/c my favorite Toyota just spit out the ring and pinion. Haven't taken it apart yet, but big chunks are coming out the drain plug and it's making a horrible sound. I think a bearing failed. :(

Silver II is home though and the mods start now.
I'm planning a SuperArmor rear bumper and sliders/nerf bars asap and I'll be putting one of the production fronts on it (this one is a prototype.)
My truetrac was making some weird lurching when going around a corner fully loaded (toyhauler) so I'll need to send that in for service before installing it.
The King shocks look like hell, I think I'll send them in for rebuild before installing them.
One of the fender flairs was damaged, so I've got to repair and repaint them - the color is a slightly different tone.
Already missing the Titan 50gal, burned the better part of a tank on the way home.
Have to start the research on a tuner and decide which of them II will get. My minimax is up for sale if anyone is looking. I also have a brand new BD exhaust brake setup that I never got around to installing for sale.
Looks like putting the airlift bags on will be a problem - it's got the 5th wheel prep package and there's a plate right where a bolt needs to go.
Traction Bars will be on soon.

Yup all the badges are stick on.. mine came off effortlessly with a heat gun and fishing line. Clean up was a piece of cake as the sticky material is foam like

Glad you moved on to new truck. Be like same but newer. Sucks based on situation, but good for you in long haul

A little hop up into the mountains today. Truck ran great. Tranny was a little sluggish in the twisties (I'm used to a g3arhead tune), but putting it in tow/haul mode seemed to help. Turbo is slooowwwww to light.

Mileage is clearly worse than my tuned and dereteted '12 but I guess that's to be expected since it's not even broken in yet, but the '12 got at least 3-4mpg better on the same run.

Regardless, luv the new truck. Happy camper. Miss things like the bigger tank and fender flairs, but they'll come with time, most of my goodies will bolt right on, some things I need some hardware/misc items, some items need repainting. NBD.

:)

WTF is up with Sync and installing apps? I've followed the directions I find online and nothing does anything like they say it does. Want Pandora on the head unit...

Also, we didn't change over the tire sensors as there was no one in the shop to do so. What's the procedure for training TPMS?

Nice, were both in the silver platinum club now haha. Yes, the platinum decals are stick on as I pulled mine off a few months back...

Dad swears his '16 gets better MPG than his '11 did. I think he's basing that on the BS-O-Meter, since he normally fills out of a bulk tank. He liked the 16ish highway until I mentioned getting over 18 in mine, so he might be interested in a weight loss program next year. LOL. He's only had it a year and has 45k on it. Wants to keep his warranty.

Weird, my friend has a 2016 with a 3.73, swears he gets 16+ on the highway at 85.
The 2014 gets 15.5-15.6 at 85. It has a 3.55.

I'm thinking he's exaggerating something somewhere.

Cannot wait to jenny craig the '14, hoping for 17.5-18.

Even stock it still gets better mileage than my old yukon. 6.0 vortec, reads 14.2 lifetime mileage, hand calc'd a hair under 15 on an entirely highway drive.

That's a fair amount of weight and bricklike aerodynamics for a gasser to be pushing around...even with today's technology. That's still 2-3 MPG better than the old motors would get. LOL

I think the 3.73 gears keep the motor in its happy place more often, rather than some calculated BS or conventional wisdom does, but I agree with you on the 85 MPH. He's gotta be believing his lie-o-meter. Guy down the street swears he gets mid 16s in his dually with 3.73 gears. Dad's is a CCSB with 3.55, as is mine.

The best I ever got post weight loss driving 75-85 was 17.9, but typically in the high 16s to the occasional low 17s. Earned a driving award a while back...tried slowing to the speed limit plus no more than 5 MPH and have had three highway tanks over 18 since, 18.4, 18.5, and 18.8 with another 17.9 in there. Pre-weight loss best was 15.6. All hand calculated via excel spreadsheet and Gass Cubby.

It's quite a lot for a tired motor too. A freshly built motor would no doubt be a little more efficient.

I need forgot to calculate the 2014's highway mileage, I'm not sure I trust the dic, either for dte or mileage. Would be interesting to take my buddy's 16 and go head to head on a road trip. Get them almost empty, fill them up from the same pump, drive them the same course at the same time, and then refill them. See both the relative efficiency and their mpg's.

Luckily no "driving awards" in this truck yet but it easily could... coming from the high mileage yukon or dump trucks, it is a rocket ship. You don't even realize how fast you're going unless you stay glued to the speedo.

How do you get 18mpg? 65-70mph?

The 18.8 was a combination of speed limits between 65 and 75. Roughly a third of each...probably a bit less of the 75 coming back to Central TX from Jall, NM. The 17.9 was on the way up there. The 18.4 and 18.5 were from CenTex to Orange, TX and back. Mostly 65 with a bit of 70 and 75 thrown in. All were running 2-5 MPH over late evening/night, so very little traffic on my IDP street tune. I've been running it because it's easier to not drive like an idiot on it...race is way too much fun, but until the last month has always returned the best MPG, town and highway.

I've been quite impressed with how much mileage has gone up by slowing down 5-8 MPH.

I too noticed a huge difference in mpg on the '12 just by slowing down a little.

Best it ever did was following a uhaul w/ wifey driving the SD back from NY. Uhaul was their biggest, loaded to the ceiling towing a trailer fully loaded. The SD had a bed full, but that's it.
She got 23mpg hand calculated. I couldn't believe it, but a calculator doesn't lie.
S'alright, I burned what she didn't, the uhaul got like 3mpg. Pretty much had it to the floor the whole way home.

My driving of the '12 gave 15-16 around town and a best of 18mpg running highway @ the limit +9 ~80.

People said the weight loss program didn't help 6.7s much but with my 16 I went from around 14-15 average to 16-18. And right when I tuned, I also swapped to 35s. Those numbers are hand calculated, even though my dash has been correct since day one. Well it actually underestimates my mpg by 1-1.5 but it's been consistent.

Gotta love big trucks and small engines lol. Tis why I avoid getting in the mitsu/izuzu cabover dump trucks at all costs. The 6.0's or the cat in the 650 will run circles around them.

After weight loss I am getting 18.5-19 hand calculated, prior I was lucky to get 16. I fill up at the same station, same pump every time. I also towed the 5th wheel roughly 90 miles in that last tank and I got 17.8. Straight hwy I am at 20+. I have 3.31 gears and 33 inch tires. I do not drive over 72 mph unless speed limit is 75. My brothers and my dad both say I drive like a grandpa.
