My truck wont move!!! Its sat for two days. It wouldn't start yesterday morning -16* here. So when I got home from work I fired it up and let it run for about half an hour (never put it in gear). This morning I started it (only -6* this morning). And let it run for about half an hour. Now when I went out I noticed the key was forward a little bit. Blower motor and radio werent on, so I turned it back a smidge and everything kicked on like it should. Went to put it in gear to leave and it wouldnt do anything. Tried every gear and nothing. Shut it off and restarted still nothing. Crawled under and moved the cable around and it doesn't seem frozen or anything. Checked all the fuses and all where good. What else should I look for? 97 f250 E40d

Is there resistance on the shifter like normal? If not make sure the tube at the base of the column is moving the cable. There is 2 bolts that like to come loose.

I got under there while my wife moved the shifter and it is moving it at the trans.

I put it in the garage and got the garage up to 60. Had the salamander pointed under the truck and the trans pan was warm to the touch and still nothing.

2 or 4 wheel drive?

What does it do when you step on the throttle, just rev up or lug down?

Inquiring minds need to know.
