If the tuning is EGR off it wont cycle the egr at all, or at least it shouldnt. Unhooked will probably ensure that it doesnt cycle at idle to keep the EGR valve from sticking.

The tuning that i am running doesn't cycle, just H&S base file that i have moddifiend (not the egr stuff)

Mine is throwing a p245a code after full egr delete. Everything is unplugged and removed, I wonder if I should plug sensors back in and just tie up out if the way?

I wish they had a base file that cycled at idle. I like that option on 6.4's. Easy to go back to on-road calibrations without worrying about stuck valves, etc.

butterfly valve is used to choke intake flow to allow greater EGR flow, to control A:F to control combustion temps, and as a shutdown valve when you shut the truck off
