I loaded X race today on my truck and am having issues. I was driving around for awhile and decided to really test the tune out. I took off from a stop under heavy acceleration. Truck went into limp mode, so I pulled over and shut truck off. Pulled codes on the LW came up with U0101, U0115, and U0100 came up twice. So I went to clear the codes on the LW but it only removed the U0101 code. The U0115 and both U0100 codes were still there. So I tried to clear the codes 4 more times. Nothing happened codes still come up and truck wont get out of limp mode. I emailed Eric hoping to maybe catch him today but got a return email from IDP saying they have been getting flooded with emails and it may take a few days before I hear anything back. So I came here to see if maybe I can atleast get my truck out of limp mode.
Thanks for any info....

Ya I just loaded x street back and the limp mode warning went away. Letting it warm up now and gonna go romp on it a little and see what happens. It was doing it on x street when I first started running it but hasn't been doing it as much.

Well back to x street went out and romped on it pretty hard and it didnt go into limp mode. The only thing that I didnt like was how it was shifting 1-2 was good 2-3 felt very harsh 3-4 & 4-5 was good. Not sure what the problem would be on the 2-3 shift tho. This is my first tuned auto trans truck still trying to figure it out

The trans has to learn, do a couple of half throttle romps up to 60 or so then, do a couple of full throttle runs from a dead stop as well. After that, you should get pretty consistent shifts.

Ya that's what Eric told me in his email today. I was under the impression that since I only changed the tune on the engine and left the trans on the tune its been on for months that everything would be ok. Eric also told me he'd have an update email for me on Monday that will fix the issues I'm having. Which I was surprised to even hear anything today being Sunday and all.. That's pretty good customer service

Those codes you pulled are just communication codes. Ya trans has to relearn some before you get good shifts. You most likely went into reduced power because of an overboost situation

To get my livewire to read codes I always have my truck running. Thats the only way it will pull some codes while others it will pull KOEO. I was told to this by some other members and it has always worked

Ya luckily the all the codes have been communication codes and not something more serious. The problem was from overboost it had something to do with the flash I had from ford not being compatible with the 3.01 tunes.

Yup you have a newer ford flash that is sensitive to the amount of boost that is being pushed causing reduced power. I also always have my truck running when I pull and clear codes

Mine wasn;t having trouble picking them up KOEO, just wouldnt clear them. Maybe I should try that next time. What was odd though was when I reloaded Xstreet they went away:confused:

I unplugged my vgt knowingly. The check engine light came on. I went inside the store and came back out, i knew what the light was for. KOEO it only picked up the communication codes (normal). So i tried clearing them, still check engine light. So I started the truck, checked for dtc, then I had a list (all pertaining to the vgt), cleared the codes, and the CELwent away, for a while anyhow.

Just an example of how it will pull some codes KOEO and some not.

The communication codes are sometimes there and usually go away with a few restarts. They pretty much mean nothing

Edit. I drove around some more and the CEL come back on. So I ended up plugging the vgt back in. Then with the engine running, I checked for codes (same vgt codes came up), cleared the codes and the CEL went away, went down the road and the truck still acted as I had the vgt unplugged. Restarted the truck and everything was good to go.

What I am getting at is I believe the truck stores some dtc's to be read KOEO while others that get activated while driving are stored in a different area where that compartment is only read with the engine running or where the engine has to be running to be active if I explained that correctly.

I think when I had the 3.01 version and the newest version of Ford flash (created to fix the flash that was too sensitive to overboost), My exrace threw a wrench and oil level too high. Only would read that with engine running also

That makes sense, Im gonna go start it up and try to read the codes again. I never even thought about doing this due to the LW saying to not start the engine. I kinda figured it might screw something up. Now that I know its ok I'll try it and see if anything different comes up. Thanks for the info guys
