I've been looking at getting some custom tunes for the OBS in my sig. Only problem is that this pos Superchips will not turn on when I plug it in to the OBD II port. The truck was tuned a long long time ago with it, and never used again. I've checked the fuses, and they're all good. My scan gauge turns on when plugged in, so that leaves the programmer. Now onto my real question, do I need to have the PCM re-flashed before I put a chip in, or can I slap one in it while it's tuned? This is the only thing stopping me from getting a chip.

You do not have to have the ECU re-flashed before you get a chip. when you install the chip what ever was on the ECU will not matter. If you have any more questions I will be happy to help.

Call the tuner you are going to use.

That was part of the original plan.

Ok thanks! That answer my question. Now just the debate of who's tunes to use.

Like said before the chip will override anything that the flash device had on... The SCT flip chip is also another option

Ive been researching tuning for a while now and I called BDP yesterday for my tunes. The awesome sale pricing was another big deciding factor also.

What is the SCT "flip chip"?

:whs:

I rarely hear of people around here running tyrant tunes, but all TW. Don't get me wrong,b but tony has some great tunes. I like to be different , so I'm thinking Tyrant, Gearhead, or PHP. Also, pricing depends too :gun:
