Quick question, I have a 2016 completely stock for now, kept getting a low boost code, long story short dealer is going to replace turbo. I know the tech personally, and he said he would agree to swapping in a Barder 6670r and I could keep the new factory turbo, shortly after I was planning on installing the 5'' exhaust and ezlynk, would I run into any issues in the week or so of being stock with the turbo? I plan on doing mods later on such a dual fuelers etc. But not for a year or more, just figured id take ahold of the free labor. Would the 6670r give me any issues in the mean time?

Thanks guys

Way worse than that. A towmax or streetmax would be driveable because they're the same turbine but a barder isn't. So the vane sweep schedule would be terribly wrong. You might limp it along.

Agreed with Jon. Not sure that would run to well in the mean time. Do you already have the turbo, EZ Link and 5"? If not give me a call (706)549-5355

Didn't someone from Midwest say something in another thread about grenading an engine due to the wrong tuning for the turbo?

ETA: Looked. Couldn't find it. Must be a fabrication of my mind.

Haha, yep! pretty sure it was Morgan too.....

Good memory. Glad it wasn't a total fabrication of my mind. See below.
ETA: It's in the 2011-2015 Turbo discussion thread. As jcain said, might limp it along for a bit, but you might have a fabulous failure as well. Not worth the risk IMO.

Morgan how are the trucks running the barder 6670R on a stock engine holding up? Will I need to build my engine or transmission to handle the horsepower that the barder 6670R is capable of?

Just fine. You do need tuning specifically for that turbo. Had a guy running standard 2015 tunes with really aggressive low end fueling and the incorrect vane position knock the rods out of one a month or two ago. They don't operate like a 15 charger. About as bad as running a 15 charger on 11-14 stock turbo tunes.
