had my rsk done by a shop since I have no time to do it myself.
i recheck my ubolts front and rear and I think the book says 150 front and rear like 150-210 so I do 170 ft lbs.
I take it back to said shop today for something they didn't do, and they said the bolts are now retorqued again and they need to be rechecked soon, since they can settle, etc.

Is this true? I don't remember reading anywhere that they loosen up.
When i drove my truck home and put about 50 miles on it, I rechecked and they were at about 60 ft lbs, and I about flipped, there is no way they backed off that much did they?

I'd think that if this happened, why doesn't the dealership have you bring a new truck back to have them checked?

I just replaced my rear ubolts & the torque for a 5/8 thread is 177ft-lbs & retorque at 500miles. The bolts will stretch when you go down the road.

its just hard to believe that they went from the supposed 170 the shop says they did, to 60 or less in 50 miles, no wonder I was hearing noises, retorqued and it was all good

Well I am sure they start stretching the most right away! Good thing you got to them though.
