I think someone on here bought a set, but sold the lp before he ever tried it. Believe he wanted to go to an Elite 72.

Ok guys so whats the diffrence between stock turbos and the more expensive brands? Are they practally stock turbos with bigger compressor wheels? Thats what these appear to be. I was just wondering how the 71s and tow powers and others are diffrent. Also the cost of getting it all installed. I will be installing them myself but wasnt sure if they took a special bracket and oil feed/drains. I was kinda looking to run stock vgt and maybe a upgraded atmo. But wasnt sure how it would work out.

If I were in your shoes, I would do a billet 71 or 72 from Elite Diesel and be done. That will give you the added power and reduced egt's that your looking for. I am not entirely sure what the all the differences between turbos are brandwise, but Elite's turbos are tried and true to what they are. They have been around for a good time now with excellent results. That is my .02

tow powers are pretty much stock housings with bigger wheels. elite's bigger turbos replace the low pressure turbo with a precision turbo.

Hey OP , I did purchase a set and my experiance was great and final product looked great , as for letting you know how they ran /run well long story , im hoping to find out soon (marthon build ) , i also swapped out the 71 with an ELITE 75mm ,only because after all the mods ive done i thought i needed the litte extera while we were at it so had an opertunity to get a 75 ,so we will see how that does , i keept the 59mm from the non vender , Truck is running and runs well a little laggy , so will keep you posted as i get info ,i also had a titanium wheel installed in the HP (suppose to help hold heat better)
As for the 55 verues the 59 i believe the 55/71 was a better tow set up ? some one will chime in , good luck with your choices

Just my opinion, but maybe people should reserve judgement on a product until they at least see/hear about someone using it. I understand that people like certain vendors, but they had to start somewhere. There was a time when company X was new and unproven.

Gawd. Company X usually didn't try to prove themselves by copying a tired, outdated setup. Buy what you want but the OP asked and he got answers.

Thanks for all the responses everyone. Iam not really sure what iam gonna do at this point in time. I want upgraded turbos but hate to spend a fortune to get them. So the link seemed like a affordable alternative. I wont be doing hardly any towing. So do you think the 59/71 would be ok? Can i run these turbos temperary without a Chip?

Not saying he should or shouldnt buy anything. Just seems that a lot of people here are biased to a few companies. If a product is crap fine, but not hearing about a product before doesn't make it no good. Competition is what helps to make things better.

Yes you can. 59/71 is a great upgrade.
