I need to replace the vacuum pump on the 96 before it fails, then I will have a spare (plan to buy new pulley too) My experience with rebuilt components such as this is usually poor. Even if I can't really afford it I buy the best. I'm never sorry. It looks like Delphi is making a new pump, anyone seen anything else besides Motorcraft? I bought a Motorcraft at a dealer a while back for a truck on the side of the road, I had to ask if they were quoting me a HPOP!!
If you bought one lately, what kind of deal did you get? If you bought one a while back, how is it lasting?

Thanks!!!

I bought mine at Ford, it was like $230, in that area. I do believe it was brand new, not a reman. Not too bad in my book.

RockAuto, com lists a new Delphi NLVP5041 for 124.89 and a Motorcraft BRPV6 for 155.79, both prices are plus shipping. It did not specify the Motorcraft was new or rebuilt but usually if its a reman it says so.

Shipping has been quite reasonable for what I have ordered in the past. They do charge extra shipping if the order comes from multiple sources.

I have had decent luck with the stuff I got from Rock Auto in the past.

I try to stick with the name brands like Gates and Motorcraft and avoid the cheaper brands they also sell. They do deliver fairly quickly and beat my local Ford dealer pricing by quite a bit. They seem to offer a selection of name brands and also more economical options as well. Once you are a repeat customer, they offer a 5% discount.

I paid 240 with a new pulley and belt from ford . Only way to go because the autozone one failed twice on me and the last time I was out of cell reception and walked 5 miles to call my dad for parts. 11 hours later and two trips from tolgate canyon to salt lake I was on the road again.

That was 3.5 (50k miles )years ago and the ford pump is still running strong . Although the spare reman autozone pump and belt go with me on trips over 100 miles .
