I have a Billet triple disc converter and new rebuilt tranny with transgo tugger kit and tranny has Billet input shaft. Looking to trade all my necessary parts for all the necessary parts for a ZF6 swap. My tranny and converter have less than 400 miles on them. Just installed and want to go back to a 6 speed

I don't mind them. I am going to be pulling this truck every once and awhile and don't want to break something the second or third time out. Getting ready to stick a set of 300/200's in with all my other mods and add water/meth and I don't think this auto is going to handle it very well and I don't have $5k to put into a good built tranny

So you can put all that money into the engine but want to skimp on the tranny? You've never even tried to use the auto at a decent power level. You have a few pieces in the tranny to make it last a little while. It'll last a long time if you don't drive like an as$hole constantly.

That's right pullin it NOT drag racing it. Read the thread. I have and race a super pro car. I don't need to race my truck car runs 5.40's in the 1/8 more than a 7.3 will ever run. Plus if you wanna go there the 2000's I had were 6spd and the times I did have them out with 250/200's and all supporting mods I ran 8.50's in the 1/8....I know how to shift if you don't that's not my problem. I know how to race a manual. If all your gunna do is talk **** stay off my thread.

I'll have my zf6 swap finished in a few days. If I totally hate it I'll be down to trade

So you want to swap to an manual? Have you driven a BTS, or John Wood transmission.... I'll give some pieces of advice, the ZF6 spd is a great transmission, break one and have a "great day" tearing one down and assembling one (Not for the faint hearted).. Pulling you will hate having to shift, the 7.3 is well, a hard engine to really do what we all wish they would do.. I've talked with a few pullers who run built 4R/E4s with PCS' s and love em.. You can tune it lock the converter in, in 2nd gear, which is where you need to really build your boost and head of steam to make a decent pull.. Alot of guys do that and then shift to 3rd to produce a great deal of momentum... A stick you'll break alot of driveline parts trying to shift and find a good gear, unless you change out to 4:56 ratios to get the RPMs up where they need to be.. And when you shift a 7.3 you don't just lose boost pressure, you lose actual ICP which is your foundation for everything you need... A pull truck is hard to drive on the street, you'll need a super tough clutch that will suck to daily drive with but it's your truck, your goals..

I've been around 7.3's for years. I've had 3 ZF6 trucks and 4 4R100 trucks. I've had BTS,ATS, and Suncoast transmissions. I've had built ZF6's. I've pulled and drag raced for years. I think I know what I'm doing and what I'm looking for. I appreciate the advice but a manual is what I need for my setup

Elaborate on what was built on your ZF6? Very curious.

Had 1 built ZF6 it had hardened shafts, straight cut gears, and steel synco's used for pullin only would not recommend driving a truck with straight cut gears on the street
