Was driving the other day and when i looked down at the AIC, it said "CErr". According to the manual, "CErr" means communications error. I look at the ScanGauge which is mounted next to the AIC and it is blank. There were no other issues while driving.
The AIC is wired into the factory harness and the ScanGauge is plugged into the ALDL port. I unplugged the ScanGauge and plugged it back in. The two red lights lit up and the two chosen parameters displayed but no values.
I shut the motor off, waited 10 seconds and re-started. All was well. Drove the truck the next day and all was well.
Is the ECM on its way out or did it experience a hiccup?
