So my 2013 has all the weight loss parts and is tuned via SCT X4 with canned stuff. Pulling out onto the highway tonight after the gym and truck wouldn't move, than all of a sudden it moved like normal. Got code P0506 on the CTS which I cleared. Was on performance setting so I loaded tow setting but it's worse. Any ideas? No leaks and no other codes on the truck.

Step on throttle now and battery light comes on then shuts off.

Have you checked the battery and alternator? Output voltage should be 14-14.5vdc at idle from alternator. It's a long shot... lol

Didn't check that. Google search for the code turned up exact symptoms I'm having and fix was replacing throttle body. Anybody do that yet?

Don't your tune turn off throttle body

If you have an SCT tuner, the throttle body should not be functional anyways. You should be able to unplug it completely and see if the problem still exists. Outside of the normal of having your batteries load tested, monitoring battery voltage on your CTS while it is happening, checking all connectors to the alternator and cables to the battery, and having your alternator tested, those would be the things that I would look at first. Also, I tried to find it in the past threads was unable to come up with it to verify what all their symptoms were. But I recall someone was saying they were having weird things like that happen and as it turns out, there was a connector right above the parking brake pedal with a cam lock on it that the cam lock works its way slightly loose and cause intermittent connections. Might want to check that connector too while your at it.

Great thanks for that. I'm headed to Florida tomorrow for a few days so having dealer fix the truck. Shop is backed up anyway (great thing) so would be a while before we could tear into it. My batteries are 2.5 years old so maybe they are due to be replaced.

Also was looking for that thread about the connector by the parking brake... So far no luck, but at least you know where to look! Hope its something cheap!

So dealer just called and truck is ready to be picked up. Tech told me that he reflashed my ECM and PCM to factory settings than couldn't get the tuner to work, so he had to call SCT and they updated the tuner. Told me he loaded the race tune and it "smokes like crazy" which I replied that it wouldn't smoke if you didn't mash on the pedal, but I digress. So a small issue with truck since the weight loss, could have been a lot worse.

Good to hear. My local dealership is ok with tuners and aftermarket parts too. I always bring my truck in and let them do my fuel filters on every other change just for that reason....they see it and realize its not getting beat to death....and when a problem arises they take care of it for me

Yeah I met the tech today and he's a super nice guy. Actually told me to take the egr off Asap so the truck runs better! Kept telling me his buddy has an 11 that went through weight loss and is an animal. Service guy takes really good care of my wife and I with loaner cars and quick service.

I know its been said before, but as long as youre not a dik to people at the dealer, most will look the other way on modifications. Unless there is a warranty item that need picture prior approval, and will get denied due to certain mods causing a failure. Personally, i love when modified trucks come in. They are a hell of a lot easier to work on, an the test drives tend to be more entertainig. Going from a modified truck, to driving stockers all day, you start to think they are lacking power. Granted, i dont drive customers trucks lik i drive mine, but everything from the sound, to being able to pass people fairly easy makes the drives better.

I haven't had to go for any issues with my truck but last time I brought the truck in for my complimentary oil changes, the techs argued on who got to drive it lol. My salesman who I've bought 7 fords from in past 3 years always hooks it up. GM too. So I don't think I'd have an issue, glad it was something easy!

Yep exactly right. I've always been good to the service guys, even bought him a couple bottles of Johnny Walker as a thank you for the great service.
