past few days when the truck shifts into 4th gear it shifts and pauses at 2000rpm for a split second then continue the rest of the shift. also while it was idleing it acted like it was going to die then went right back to being fine. also about 2 weeks ago the gas pedal quit working turned the truck off and back on and it worked. any input on any of this stuff would be helpful, no codes at all thrown.

Throttle position sensor that is located at the pedal would be my first guess. Have you pulled or looked for any codes? You can have codes without the CEL

Pulled codes to look for soft codes. Had the exhaust back presure valve code and thats because i unplugged it. That's the only code it had.

What are you using to pull codes?

Not an ae but the scanner usually pulls diesel specific codes.
