weld front diff or no??

I am wondering if I weld the front diff on my OBS will it mess up the stearing on dry pavement or when going down the road with front hubs unlocked? Its not a daily driver by any means, its a weekend toy / 2.6 sled puller

If the hubs are unlocked then no, it won't effect anything.

ok wasent sure, I only lock the hubs when needed ie mud, sled pulling... I figured itd be alot cheaper then an air or elec locker

Another cheap option is a spool.

do they offer a spool for the dana 50?? how would it steer on pavement with a spool or welded front?

If the hubs are locked in it well want to push thru every turn. Unlocked it will be totally normal

ok, sounds good then, I dont drive round with the hubs locked in anyway.. only when needed do i get out and lock them in... has anyone else done this?
