Well me and my buddy are both in the process of ******** and tuning our trucks. Mine is the truck in my sig and his is an 08 or 09 Dmax. I think he told me he is using Cory Willis tuning. Sorry I have no clue if I heard him right or not about that name. Anyways both trucks will pretty much just be ******d and tuned. How bad will he beat me in some short fun races? should I avoid racing him lol! I know our trucks are much heavier just wanted to see if any of you guys had luck against Dmaxs in your 15 or 16 ******d trucks. My tunes will be Ghead. Probably will be adding a No Limit intake after christmas

the launch will be your ticket. they will be similar in power but you should be able to launch a lot harder. second gear start, 4hi and 1900rpm before you let off the brakes.

You'll take him, I took my buddy, our trucks launch a lot better than D-Maxes, that weight comes in handy lol. If you get your launch right, you'll walk him, and 50% chance he'll snap his tiny little IFS front half shafts lol. My friend went through 3 axles in his.

also turn off stabilitrac and advance trac?

turn of advancetrak and leave the shifter in D, just manually bump to 2 for the launch. it will still be in auto but lock out 1st

No experience here, but from what I have read, not many.

I've had probably almost 50 4wd "boosted" launches. It's not the launch, it's the staying in it till 100 mph that's hard on them shifting into the higher gears. Mine used to squal on old tunes into 5th. Not anymore. Tuning plays a huge role on how these transmissions hold up I believe.

Like I said, I have no experience with them, but the guys that build them say that 4th gear sucks in the 11-14's and all the gears are weak in the 15-16's and the 11-14's are stronger. My 16 doesn't have 2k miles on it yet and its all stock and never been launched. So I am just repeating what others have found.

I say you got him no matter what or how you race. Op your truck puts down around 600 horse on a hot tune. Any d max even a LmL can't do that. I know we are heavy but remember he can't run to hot of a tune anyway due to the tranny limping.

Some jump in a correct me if I'm wrong here but most of my buddy's have dmax and don't see them to fast but tire size plays a good roll here to.

I will let yall know how it goes. I will be ******d by end of the week. His parts wont be in for a little while but Im sure we will get videos. In the end its all for fun!(but winning is always more fun).

Now I just have to figure out how to get it into 2nd gear while its still in D. While in D if I press the + or - all of the gears disappear, or starting from the top each gear disappears. Such a noob ;(

And Cheap6.7 i thought dleetd and tuned these trucks put out around 500hp??
