Engines have gotten better over last 30 years but the oils are why you see them going 400,000 miles today. The days of sludge piling up inside the engines are gone. I tore down thousands of engines in the 80’s when I was a machinest rebuilding them. 80K on a engine back then had significant wear on all the valve trane timing chains piston skirts and even some rings and cylinder bores were worn @ 80-100K. Oil is so much better today and is a big factor in the engine reliability we enjoy today. It’s your trucks your engines pour in what’s refined into oil regardless of where it’s from. Or use synthetics that start from only highest quality petroleum’s and have the flaws engineered out. I like knowing I’m not draining my rubber o-rings out the drain plug over time too.
