So guys I have all the basic engine mods done, mikes stage 2 intake, EGR ******. I have a few questions though that I haven't really thought to much about until now. Is it worth spending the money to get the plastic tubing replaced with metal piping? Also what is the CCV ******? I could easily read up on it but for people who have already done it, why? Wanting to do exterior mods but thinking this might be first on the list..?

How many miles do you have on your truck? I am replacing my plastic piping today with an H&S intercooler upgrade (I assume your talking about the charging tube running from the intercooler to the air intake). The reason I replacing is because my rubber boot (front right of radiator fan with t bolt clamp) has come off at the bottom. The bottom side of it is a crimped ring. The reason it came off was because the CCV was running oil back into the charged air tube.

The CCV is crank case vent. It is that black box at the back of the engine on the drivers side. You can see it in this picture with the white bar codes on top. It vents the crank case and runs the hose back into the air intake. Plus I was pushing more air due to my tube. This is what has happened to mine after 158k miles. You are looking at the internal side of the EGR valve.

I am considering doing the CCV reroute to prevent this buildup again.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Wow, my truck has 174k miles on it so I imagine it's just as bad. Yes I need the H&S upgrade kit. Let me know how it looks after you do your install!

I'll send a picture when I get done with it later today. I have the non-OEM one where it replaces the air intake valve.

CCV reroute may be something I do as well.

Wow, I would definitely invest in the replacement tube or get a full pipe ing kit. Can't believe you have made it that far with out blowing it. It is cheaper than being stuck on the side of the road. I was pulling a trailer to a job site one day and laid into it then heard that infamous boom.

Yes I got stuck. And then stuck again after I thought I fixed it. That oil from the crankcase vent causes that crimped ring on the bottom
of the boot to to slip. Here is my truck after installing the pipe. I believe I was missing a bolt that connected the power steering reservoir unless I missed something. Relatively simple install but make sure you have a torque wrench and a 5mm Allen socket drive for it!

absolutely necessary unless you want all the crap you see posted above you .

Haha yeah. That was me who posted that. I've put a lot of money into the truck so far. I'm going to wait a little while to do the CCV.
