Okay guys im having trouble with my Torque converter on my truck unlocking/slipping in overdrive and 4th gear. Happens very often when i am driving 75 km/h or faster. It also feels like the truck is very slowly loosing power.

The trans fluid is a nice pink/red and smells brand new not burnt. Should i go ahead and replace the TQ?. Or would it be a waste of time. Also i changed the tranny filter 10,000km ago. Should i replace it again? when i put in a new TQ. I dont have the money right now or anytime soon to drop 3-5000$ on a built one unfortunately otherwise i would in a heart beat.

Truck is a 2000 f250 4r100, 4x4, 4" exhaust, 6637, TDP tuning. 320,000 kms on odo.

Transmission is not original. Current one has 100,000 miles on it.

Yes the third brake light thing is for real. Sorry to tell you about that but it happened to mine. And if your O/D light starts to flash you are looking at the TCC code and I would go with just a new TC because that is what I did. I just had one built with 6.0 internals. It worked flawlessly.

if your O/d light is flashing its not the brake light. if its your torque converter get a presicion that will be the last one you buy.

My transmission temperature has been abnormally high lately. And today it hit 250 F climbing a logging road for 5 minutes. So i dont know about putting any money into it.

And the rest of the transmission will go shortly after he throws that in there, then he gets to buy another TC when all the metal shavings go running through it.

In my opinion you should go through it all if you plan to put a nice TC in it, otherwise throw a stock one back in and go
