What types of coolant should I be using?

I currently have an EGR valve delete kit and also removed the cooler of course. With those two problem items out of the icture, does is really matter any more what kind of coolant I use. I'm not looking to cheap out, its just the recommended coolants are not available where I live. I have to order them in. Could I just use another quality coolant even if it does not meet the recommended standard for the 6.0L?

Anything that meets the Cat EC-1 standard is fine if you want the good stuff.

Any big truck dealers should be able to get it. Cat international and kenworth all stock it.

Truck stops also, I see your in Montana also and you can score elc at Town Pumps etc.
