Im looking at doing a ported intake and I dont know 100% ( I need a 100% sure answer ) if I can use the IPR GenII EGR delete with other years. I have an 06 motor and the intake Im wanting to use is an 04 year. IPR lists different deletes for the 03-04 and 05-07 motors. Anyone know for sure that the delete for my 06 will work on an 04 intake manifold? If there is no certainty, I'll just cut out the coolant and EGR bulb and plug the oil cooler coolant passage with a freeze plug. Then re-route the coolant under the degas bottle.

Airfish2011 texted me the info. This is for anyone else that was wondering.

The early 2004 trucks were pretty much the same as the 03 trucks in terms of intake design ( with the bridge or connection at the back ) and utilizing the same EGR cooler ( round style ).

The 2004.5 trucks have the 05-07 style intakes ( no connection at the back ) and use the same EGR cooler ( square design ) thus allowing the same IPR EGR GenII EGR delete to be used.

the 05-07 gen 2 deletes are a tad bit longer than the 03-04 deletes just FYI. ive tried to make a 06 one work on an 04 truck and it wouldn't work

Yup. The differences are in the cooler inlet casting of the manifold. Some are shorter, some are longer. Some are cast into the runner/throat, some aren't.

I found a post by Vince on the Org and he said that as long as it had the square body cooler then the 05-07 would work.. dammit haha

so then basically I just need to get the GenII 04 egr delete.

I tired to call Vince but he never answers.

Say right at the top of the desc. in red ( http://iprresearch.com/product.php?productid=5&cat=56&page=1 ) I should be good to go. The trucks that had the round EGR coolers need the 03-04 style delete. The trucks with the square use the 05-07

Yeah I could do that...

Here is Vince's response ( He just emailed me )

You're correct. If you have a intake manifold without the bridge its a late intake and will work with 2005 later delete kits.
Which seal kit do you need? Just the orings for the gen2 or the entire intake gasket kit?
