Whats coming apart?-Fuel system

Everytime I change my fuel filter I have this debris laying atop the filter. Is this the fuel pump going out? I have awesome fuel pressure at all time.

Do you have a pre-pump filter in the system, or just the bowl filter?

If you have a pre-pump filter, have you cut it open to see if any of this is in it too?

No pr-pump. Have been putting it off. I might run the pump out of a bucket and drain into a bucket. See if it is the pump itself. Can't think of anything else that would cause these pieces.

Where do you get fuel from? Might be from there too...

No way to tell without a pre pump filter on there as that will let you know if its in the tank or the pump.
