when do you need to replace shocks?

i currently have stock rancho shocks that came with the fx4 package. its an 04 f250 with 55k miles on it. when do i need to get new shocks?

I just put shocks on my 07 and I thought it rode good before but now it rides amazing I try and do them at 50k for tire wear reasons but some last longer

Well what shocks do you all recommend? I was thinking about the blistings (idk if that's how you spell it). But what are yalls thoughts?

Bilstein shocks are good. I generally replace shocks when they are leaking or are blown. On our semi trucks at work we change shocks when we change tires, so every 80-120k miles.

what size shocks would ya'll recommend for a truck with 2.5" in front and 2" in the rear? i looked but can only find shocks for stock height or 4" lift

Are you looking for 250? I had to look for 350 so I could get them the right length
