had the truck in for a leaky upper rad. hose less than a month ago...thought that was the end of my coolant loss problems. maybe 2 weeks later the bottle was low again (lower than it was before i brought it in) and i brought it back and they topped it off for me. I put about 250 miles on the truck since they topped it off and it has gone down maybe 1/4 inch at warm level. figured maybe there was air in the system and it was working itself out. could there still be air in the system and could it still be working itself out? i pray my head gaskets arent going...cant see any leaks on the ground since they replaced that hose...the thing was dye tested and everything.

stock head bolts?
Hows the engine oil look? Milky? Overfull?
could be air for sure, are you checking the same conditions everytime? Sitting overnight with a completely cold system is how it should be checked

you might need to pull the intake elbow off the intake and see if its wet or even clean inside the intake, that would indicate a egr cooler failure

I don't have a pic on hand, but it is the tube just behind the radiator (it is ultimately connected to your IC). The elbow starts on the passenger side and
connects to the middle of your engine on top. it is about 3" or so in diameter (I can't remember the stock's specific diameter). You can't miss it when you are looking for it.

i believe it is factory radiator, i just am confused as to why it wouldnt have showm up leaky or bad when I had it in there for the coolant leak that i could actually see. i think i know what you are talking about B585. you are saying to take that off and look inside to see if its dry which means bad egr cooler?
