Im looking into getting my spare intake manifold ported and wasnt sure which manufacturer i wanted to go with. I was thinking prolly elite or absolute. I really just want to know results from people who have run either one with a pmax or any other larger vgt?

I would recommend the one from Soot Powered Performance. Matt really knows his chit. Get ahold of Patrickke, for more info.

If you have any questions about the absolute or ours, let me know. :D

:whs:

Apex is very well made. Welds, and machining done is super clean. No feedback yet as the truck is being put back together now.

LOL you guys have to venture into the 6.4 forums where the is a serious dick measuring contest going on about these manifolds! LOL

Steve@ absolute, Doug @ gogo, Tadd and the elite crew, Matt at Soot Powered all great guys who offer a stout product. You really cant go wrong to be honest, these trucks will only flow so much air until theres a restriction. You can port the manifold all you want, but the heads at a certain point become the restriction instead of the intake manifold.

Ill be testing a manifold for Matt if I can get my ish together. :naughty:

i honestly think there's more to be gained through intake manifold porting than there is through head porting. Im not sure i'd even waste my time having my heads ported. You risk more chance i think having the heads to crack with porting them than if they were just left stock. I've heard more issues with ported heads crackin than stock ones...no thank you.

I agree to some point, but like I said, you can port the intake manifold all you want, but the heads will become a bottleneck in flow eventually. It really depends on the setup you're running, most will not see a large enough gain to warrant porting the heads, this is why most people will see it being a waste of time and money and a ported intake works just fine. I dont see much issue with cracking to be honest, most cracking I see has no correlation in location where a head would be done, but I've been wrong plenty of times before :naughty: :blitzed:

the cracking i've seen is between the valves. I was gonna try porting my heads a little when i did my stud job myself back in '06, but honestly there didn't look like there was much meat to take out to even be worth it's while. So i just polished all the ports like glass.

so i guess the question is, how many 10 sec 6.0s have the heads ported..and how is it holding up..if theyre not, then is it really needed? I believe there was a white 2wd CCSB that has the heads ported and polished and in the mid 400 in HP range from AZ..was in DP magazine..I wonder if he is having problems with the heads.
