Looking at a MTW Hybrid. Who likes it and what kind of power does yours make? Reading post sounds like it's hit or miss. Sounds like guys either love it or hate it.

Never heard anybody complain about their Barder. Just saying.

And if you really only want a turbo that flows a touch better I have an 03 turbo for sale.

Because of recents events I've seen happen here and elsewhere I wouldn't be an mtw supporter if It was given to me...

for the money and going to a "hybrid" the kc diy 1.5 might be a far better shot if your vgt stuff is in good working order. google around a bit and they are strarting to have some reviews pop up.

Every dyno I seen with a hypebrid was 20 hp under the stock charger.. my 2 sucked and was replaced after 11 months with a stg1.. it was junk out of the box... Bad seals...
Barder turbo services hooked me up and I am extremely happy.. thanks James! !
I am now looking to try a WPE/KC DIY 2.5 kit to see how it tows.. There kits seem like a great alternative to rebuild and resize your existing turbo..

Correct, I'd go Stage 2 or MadMax if you're going to go MTW.

That is correct but there are quite a few used ones out there.

Do not buy a Hybrid.

Not true. There are people who have complained about their Barder turbo, both publicly and privately. The people that have complained about their Barder turbo out in the open have been attacked. I'm not saying anything bad against Barder, but every time I've seen a Barder turbo dyno - something's gone wrong and it hasn't performed. Whether it be the tune, dyno, boost leak, etc.... **** goes wrong. Just sayin.

I'm not praising MTW, but I'm not going to sit by and let remarks like that be said anymore.

Adrian offered everyone who had bought a Hybrid a free upgrade to the Stage 2 if they weren't happy with their Hybrid, the thing is the wait time - it's fairly long. If I remember correctly.

Stonepusher has been in the 10s with his 68 and odawg made 618 with his 68 and 175s.

So you think 2 successful reports can account for everyone? That nobody has an issue with their Barder turbo because of 2 people having those numbers shown? Stonepusher had a ton of nitrous to help him get into 10s (which conveniently enough is never mentioned, only the fact that he ran a Barder Stage 3) , and Oliver never backed up his 618 number with track times. Oliver is also the ONLY one to dyno even remotely well (over 600) with 175s so far. Not to mention, that was one dyno, on one day...

Listen, I'm not trying to argue. But this perception that everyone is building about Barder/MTW/KC/etc is ridiculous. Adrian can make a great turbo. James and Chalire both can make a great turbo - I personally haven't ran one of theirs, but people that I trust (Nate - Windrunner, Matt - MWilbur) have assured me it's true.

Okay so it withstood a high amount of nitrous and still went high 11s on fuel maybe low 12s I don't remember. I believe Adrian can make a great turbo but product isn't everything.

Just my .02, when I started researching a decent turbo upgrade, I first saw the mtw posts. So I had emailed asking about them, I got a response from Denny, nice guy had some decent info, and was told Adrian would chime in "soon". Well that was a while ago, 6 weeks maybe more. Not a single response from Adrian, and then I started reading the " horror stories" about the mtw's, between failures, people waiting a very long time for there turbos and so on. Pretty scary stuff.

I have yet to read anything except one "bad" story about KC and Barder. And the one bad was a DIY turbo rebuild mistake, admitted by the guy who bought the test kit. Now given there is not a ton of feed back on them, the info should be coming soon.

Not sure what you mean... Adrian has done as much as he can when it comes to customer service. Just like James and Charlie do. You guys get whatever you want, but know that MTW/Barder/KC/WPE/whoever you decide to go with - they're all good guys who will give great customer service.

How many turbos does KC and Barder have out? MTW has several hundred turbos out there. I'm really not trying to turn this into a MTW vs. whoever thread. I'm just trying to straighten out the perception of these companies. What MTW horror stories have you read about? I know of a few guys who had issues with their MTW turbos, but they spread the news like wildfire - in EVERY MTW thread that ever came up. It's stopped now, but for a while - these select few made this their personal mission to discredit MTW as much as possible... even when they were given a refund and/or equal compensation for their trouble (to my knowledge).

I've ran 3 MTW turbos on 2 different trucks. No horror stories here. Even with my prototype MadMax with an 11 blade turbine wheel I'm running now. Boost builds slow when daily driving (I don't build much more than 5psi until about 1800 RPMs) - however I have a ZF6. I know for a FACT that someone with a Barder Stage 3 and a ZF6 experiences the same boost building issues that I do. So, it ain't necessarily the turbo.

So 698.9hp Fuel only with 190/100s and my stage 3 doesn't back my **** up?

I have had a 0% failure rate with 6.0L turbos.

Find an unhappy customer of mine and post it up.

So keep swinging on the MTW band wagon.
He has more pissed off customers than happy from what I have seen

You think the one dyno run of Adrian's Stage 4 and 225s that got him 779rwhp fuel only was enough to back his numbers up? That was when his headgaskets were blown too.

You think I'm on the MTW bandwagon? Aren't you presumptuous. I've got no unwavering allegiance to MTW. I'm just sick and tired of seeing people constantly beat on him, especially when .... *EDITED*

I don't have a problem with you, James. You want me to tell you who I know for a fact that's having issues with your turbo. I'll PM you my number, he's chosen to remain in private for a reason.

You may be right about him having more pissed off customers than you or anyone else. And I hate to hear that, mainly because I don't like hearing how people spend their hard earned money on something that doesn't work out. But as far as I know, Adrian's refunded everyone.

As for the Stage 3 and 190s you mentioned - who did that? That's impressive.
