installed in their truck?

I bought one off a member either here or on psn used along time ago.
I finally got around to installing it a while back and the boost gauge doesn't fit for crap in any hole. I had to take the bottom pod and open it up on the bottom for the gauge to fit, and it still doesn't work.
I'm a stickler for details and this one ain't cutting it. Is it something I"ve done wrong?
Is it my new autometer factory match gauges?
I sold my banks gauges months ago so I can't try them to see if that is what it is.

I guess I'm going back to a tri pod and pitch this thing if I can't figure it out, but then I"m stuck with no place to put my scan gauge.

Anyone have any ideas? Is there more than one mfg of these things? I"m sure the guy who had it didn't have issues, it was installed in his truck.

I"m not knocking the product or the dealer or whoever made, sold, mfg it, but something aint' right.

the gauge fits in the pod, but the back of the gauge with fittings is too deep so it pushes the gauge back thru the front, not matter how you insert it. the part of the gauge where the tubing attaches hits the pod not allowing it to seat right.

Put it in a different hole then. That's a common problem in OBS trucks whether its a 3 hole or 4 hole pillar.

My CP 4pod pillar fit better than my autometer 3 pod. Wish I would have bought more at the time.

Ive tried them all,it fits the same in each hole, I just chose the bottom one so I could put the hole in a less noticeable spot.

I've used autometer and dipricol and isspro, never had an issue. If you have to much wiring, tubing, or any of that jammed in behind there, or running down behind it from the other gauges, it's gonna cause figment issues.

did you use the autometer factory match specifically?

only reason I ask is that the way the tubing fits in the back with the brass fitting it puts the tubing right into the wall of the pod.
I've tried changing the viewing angle of the gauge and it still hits no matter where I position it.

thanks for the help.

Ive noticed that the autometer boost gauges have this problem with obs pods, I had a quad pod in my obs and it did stick out a little bit but nothing that was noticeable.

I think if that brass fitting off the back of the gauges was a tad short or used different fittings it would work better.

It happened on my three gauge pod as well in my obs, but doesn't on my sd quad pod.

Sent from the left lane with the hammer down...

any idea where to find something that will work? i tried lowes and home depot with no luck, a 90 or 45 would put it at a better angle and take the length out of it.

Drill a hole through your factory pillar. Run yours boost lines behind that. You may have to cut down the pod studs or drill a larger hole in your factory pod, for everything to fit

I've done that, it doesn't hit the factory pillar, if its on the bench and the pod is uninstalled the same thing happens.
