I just got finished replacing both tanks in my 95 F350

I used diesel rated rubber hose from the tanks to the tank selector switch.

in the future I will also run rubber lines from the switch up to the engine.
maybe e-fuel... who knows.

But anyway, The lines coming off the tanks are 3/8" FEED and 5/16"return.

Until you get to the tank selector switch.... Then BOTH the return and feed are 5/16" going into the switch... :wtf:

No getting around it because the snap lock connectors on the switch are for 5/16" hose.

I should have just run 5/16" hose for both.... I mean whats the point of using 3/8 if it's getting choked down once it hits the selector switch... ?

friggin joke.

the stock ford lines are even more of a joke. steel off the engine/pump then braided steel line then reduced down the solid lne (that actually looks smaller the 5/16" ) then to rubber line .. to the switch ... then back to steel line to braided line to stupid ass push lock connectors on the sending units...

you guys that are running E-fuel and dual filters and all that, How are you dealing with the restriction of the tank selector switch?

I still run my stock selector with electric fuel and do not have an issue. The only time my fuel pressure drops for an instant is on a hard take off for just a second which I also think has to do with slosh in the tank.

Yeah,
I don't think it's a major problem..... I was just venting..

ya know, I'll bet if you (or I or somebody) looked around, you could probably find a pushloc connector for the tank switch with a 3/8" barb not 5/16"

I just used 2 brass fittings (barbs screwed into a union) to go from 3/8 to 5/16

gonna finishup undercoating the tanks today .... gonna keep the bed off for a few days to make sure I have no leaks.... but so far everything looks good and runs good.

reason for the 3/8 is so you dont mix them up with the return

Not true.

by looking at the stock lines to the sending unit, they are identical in size. (OD of hose)

However, They are colored BLUE and GREY so you don't mix them up.

and I'm not fully convinced that is a deterrent... If someone was a big enough bonehead, I'm sure they could force the pushloc connectors on the wrong lines.
