Well it's winter time and as usual things pop up that will cause problems. My batteries I think are going bad so what kind does everyone run? Interstate motorcraft optimas......... Plus the others out there.

And 2 I'm going to put a Stancor relay in. What part number is it for the correct relay to use?

Thanks

I went back with Motorcraft on mine since I had great luck on the OEM ones.

I also had excellent luck with Motorcrafts in my 94 (the originals and a replacement set). I've also used the Duralast Golds and they seemed to be working well when I sold the truck. The Stancor relay is 586-902. Cheers!

Yeah I'm leaning towards the factory ones since we always had good lick with them. Thanks Patrick for the part number!

My only concern right now is that if my truck sits for more than a day it either won't start or barely does. It had a sound system in it when I bought it. That's the only thing I can think of that would cause a draw like that. I have a cb but it's never on and I don't have fog lights on it so I know it's not that.

I have napa golds that have been pretty good for a couple years now. Steer away from the optimas they're being made in mexico now and their quality has been going down.

I went with the Motorcraft batteries. My original ones lasted 11 years and were still good but I changed them out anyway. I thought that the ones that I have in there now had a problem until I had them load tested and they tested OK. I guess that my truck doesn't like to sit around for 3 or 4 weeks until I need it anymore.

It's for the glow plugs. Correct me if I'm wrong but it's a better and sturdier design that won't fail all the time like some factory ones do

Motorcraft battery's are by far THE BEST, especially in the colder climates.

The latest NAPA 84 is a close second, but you cannot beat the warranty on the Motorcraft.

I have 2 2005's running the original motorcrafts. When they die I will install the same batteries.
